Privacy Policy

1. WHAT

Seagen Germany GmbH (“Seagen”) will electronically process and store the following categories of personal data in its CRM (Customer Relations Management) system and other systems:

personal details (e.g. name, gender, professional registration number), contact details (e.g. email address, telephone number(s), country), professional qualifications, institute and other professional affiliations (e.g. department, function, specialty), publications and memberships (e.g. boards, committees), and a record of interactions with you.

Seagen may also want to process data such as your area(s) of expertise, professional credentials, activities, skills, preferences and professional interests. It obtains this information from public sources or data brokers, such as IQVIA.

 

2. WHY

We will process your data to assess your interest in our products and events, to share scientific information on therapeutic area(s) and products that may be of interest to you, to plan and invite you to scientific meetings and events based on the therapeutic area(s) of your interest and to create statistics and study trends.

 

3. LEGAL BASIS

The processing of your personal data is based on our legitimate interest to contact you as described above and establish a relationship with you (Article 6.1(f) of the GDPR). Where necessary we also obtain your consent, for example, for certain direct marketing activities.

 

4. WHO

The entity responsible to collect and process your is Seagen Germany GmbH, located in Maximilianstr. 13, 80539 Muenchen, Germany.

Depending on our future interactions, Seagen may also want to share your data with companies of the Seattle Genetics group located in Europe or EEA and travel and communications agencies that may support us to manage your travels, e.g. to scientific events.

Given that our parent company is located in the USA, and that they may perform some services for us, we may also have to transfer your data to our parent company.

 

5. WHERE

Your data will be processed in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Travel and communications agencies may be located in Switzerland or in the European Economic Area.

Occasionally, we may have to transfer your data to our parent company in the US. The US are among those countries that are not considered by the EU Commission and Swiss authorities to offer adequate protection to personal data, that is to say that, according to the Commission, the data processing measures adopted in the US are not as secure as the one adopted in Europe and Switzerland.

Nevertheless, Seagen would like to reassure you that we have strict data protection policies in place and that your data will be securely used and stored in accordance with this notice.

Seagen put in place contractual controls approved by the European Commission to protect your information. You can obtain a copy by using the contact detail provided below.

 

6. FOR HOW LONG?

Seagen will review the content of its databases periodically to make sure that the data registered therein are up-to-date and still of interest.

In any case, your data will not be kept for longer than 5 years if we don’t have any further interactions.

 

7. WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS?

Subject to limitations in the law, you have the right to access your data, and to ask us to update or rectify, restrict, port or erase your personal data.

You have the right to object to our use of your personal data for the legitimate interests described above or to withdraw your consent, where applicable, at any time.

8. SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY

We also wish to remind you that you can lodge a complaint with your country’s Data Protection Supervisory Authority, should you have legitimate reasons to complain about the processing of your data by Seagen.
